500+ respond to EPA carbon plan survey

20140825_cleanpower_fbSo far, more than 500 CUB Action Network members have taken our survey on the Environmental Protection Agency’s “Clean Power Plan” to reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2030 (Illinois individual goal is to cut emissions by an estimated 33 percent).   The plan has evoked a heated public debate, so we were curious what Illinoisans had to say.

Here are responses to the top question so far

Do you support the EPA plan to cut carbon emissions from power plants?

61% Yes
26% No
13% Don’t have enough information

Some comments from respondents:

Look long term: go GREEN.
It costs too much and will make electricity prices go through the roof.
We need to take every measure possible to reduce the carbon we’re putting into the atmosphere.
We have too many EPA regulations already. They are killing businesses.

What do you think?  If you haven’t already, please take the survey to answer this and other questions about our energy future.  CUB values your input on this important issue!
