This is especially irritating because I get plenty of calls from consumers complaining that Com Ed is NOT trimming trees enough. Addressing this kind of issue would be way better PR for them than handing out paper fans at the Taste of Chicago.

[...] More about the May 5th outage in Plainfield. One ComEd customer was about to open his Mexican restaurant on what was expected to be a busy day, Cinco de Mayo, when the outage hit. ComEd’s taken some heat over its reaction to the outage. And the company could be the subject of a complaint from another community not happy with ComEd’s service. In the midst of the bad press, ComEd tries to make nice. Instead of ComEd “CAREs,” why doesn’t it just drop its push for a rate hike of more than $300 million?
What is CUB's involvement with the new Application? According to the ICC, CUB has filed a petition to be included. Why?

I was just informed that AT&T will be raising the rate I pay for basic DSL from $14.99 to $19.99. That's an increase of 33 1/3%, and I'm getting nothing more for my money. I'm very upset. When I signed up for the much publicized $14.99 rate I was told that it was NOT an introductory rate. They say that they are doing this in order "To continue providing you the high quality features and leading service value you've come to expect from AT&T...". That's untrue. I'm happy with the service as it is. We need CUB to help.

I am one of the many duped by U.S. Energy Savings Corp. Their spokesman/salesman/pitchman came through our neighborhood last June touting the the savings of a FIXED price of $1.14 per therm. At the time, it sounded like a good idea. But this winters gas bills have proven otherwise. $260.51 for February. $222.26 for January. $285.82 for December. Where is the savings. One of my neighbors did not switch from North Shore and they are only paying 82.7 cents per therm. All I can say is "buyer be ware." Thank heaven for CUB.
